There is hardly a country where the tradition of professional diving is as rooted as in Italy. The Incursori Special Forces, born of the legendary torpedo riders of World War I, is still considered one of the best and most experienced combat diving groups in the world. The famous Galeazzi diving knife dates back to the 1950s, the pioneer decade of diving. It was then that Jacques-Yves Cousteau and Hans Hass laid the foundations for modern diving technology.
Fox revives the famous knife and presents a detailed replica with a modern mix of materials. Rarely has a replica been so consistently and uncompromisingly implemented as the present Galeazzi. The basic construction is based on a solid piece of 420 stainless steel with a smooth edge, but the back of the blade is curved inward and has an additional serrated edge for cutting through ropes and nets. The textured handle scales are made of non-slip G10.
The handle end is also equipped with a solid rolling fork key. With the help of the tool, also known as the Englishman, even large hex bolts can be easily loosened. The practical sheath is made of richly greased thick cowhide. Regularly maintained, the leather withstands salt water and UV radiation longer than modern plastics. The Galeazzi diving knife is best worn in style with a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms or an Officine Panerai.
