CAPTIVATE™ Polarized Bronze Mirror Lenses
With these lenses, colors are evenly distributed based on wavelength intensity for increased contrast and performance. Additionally, they reduce blue light (HEV) to allow greater color saturation in red, yellow, and green areas; define and intensify yellow shades; and reduce glare on reflective surfaces. ENHANCED COLORS:
CAPTIVATE™ filters out confusing light where blue merges with green (500nm) and green merges with red (585nm). This allows more light where it's easier for your eyes to see, resulting in improved blues, greens, and reds for a true color experience.

Shorter wavelength blue light and higher frequencies scatter light, creating haze. By filtering out this blue light, CAPTIVATE™ eliminates the haze and allows distant objects to be seen more clearly.

BLOCKS UV AND BAD BLUE LIGHT (HEV-HIGH ENERGY VISIBLE LIGHT):
CAPTIVATE™ blocks UV/HEV light rays that harm our eyes, reducing the risk of damage to retinal cells and age-related macular degeneration. It's important to remember that spending one hour outside on a normal cloudy day exposes our eyes to at least 30 times more blue light than spending one hour inside in front of a screen. Wiley X CAPTIVATE™ is the only premium polarized eyewear brand that blocks out all bad blue light up to 430nm.
SCRATCH/ABRASION RESISTANCE:
CAPTIVATE™ Polarized lenses achieve a Bayer 7 rating for scratch resistance. A rating of 4 or higher equates to a premium coating.
OLEOPHOBIC COATING:
Wiley X uses a proprietary oleophobic coating on all CAPTIVATE™ polarized lenses to create a smoother lens surface, preventing dust, dirt, oil, snow, and water from sticking to the lens. This, in turn, helps prevent smudging and water spots, making the lenses much easier to clean than an uncoated standard lens.
MEETS STANDARDS:
ANSI HVP - The frame and lens must withstand the impact of a 6.35mm steel ball fired at 164.6 km/h. The lens must remain in the frame and not shatter. The frame must also remain intact.
EN.166 - The frame and lens must withstand the impact of a 6mm steel ball weighing 0.86 grams fired at 162 km/h. The lens must remain in the frame and not shatter. The frame must also remain intact.
