This really is new, or else it was issued to someone who never took it out of the wrap. BX-25 Ruger rifle mag and similar size objects would be way too tall. Pistol mags and similar would be fine. I believe that 40mm(40x46) grenades would be what the designers had in mind. I don't have any to test, strangely enough. Great quality for little money.
